Peer Recovery Support Program.

Our Peer Recovery Support program connects individuals in recovery to support one another in their unique pathways to recovery.

Through peer recovery, individuals in recovery maintain a support system that aids in staying sober and overall wellness.

We offer culturally specific services to East-African individuals suffering from substance use disorder and those in recovery, equipped with cultural competency due to our East-African backgrounds.

As the only culturally-specific non-profit organization offering such services within the Twin Cities, we provide a vital resource to our community.

Educational Resources.

  • We unlock pathways to understanding through culturally specific educational programs, focusing on opioid addiction and mental health in our East African community.

Engaging in both online and offline spaces, our approach includes impactful short films and enlightening online events, assuring accessibility and relatability.

  • We stand robust in our advocacy, curating resonant narratives, and orchestrating events, becoming a palpable presence in community spaces and far-reaching platforms like Somali TV Minnesota.

Our digital platforms weave stories of struggle and victory, crafting a tapestry that both showcases and supports real-life journeys through addiction and mental health challenges.

  • At Generation Hope, we facilitate detailed peer recovery training, equipping individuals with the skills to not only assist others on their recovery journey but also to forge their own path towards sustainable employment.

Our carefully devised, culturally specific curriculum ensures relevance, embodying the unique experiences and needs of our community

  • In alliance with partners like The City of Minneapolis and The University of Minnesota, we delve into research, ensuring our initiatives are crafted upon a bedrock of data, directly informed by the lived experiences within our community.

We are steadfast in our commitment to intertwining real-world data with our initiatives, creating programs that are not merely supportive but symbiotically connected to our community’s pulse.

Harm Reduction Support.

  • In partnership with Steve Rummler Hope Network, the program distributes Narcan, a medication that can reverse an opioid overdose, to individuals who use opioids or know someone who does. The program also offers education and training on how to use Narcan safely and effectively.

  • The program provides a safe and discreet location for individuals who inject drugs to exchange used needles for clean ones. This helps reduce the spread of infections such as HIV and hepatitis C, as well as other health risks associated with unsafe injection practices.
